    Hey Ron,

Mine are black rubber. But, I have the Midnight Maxim.

But, then, the PO did put on some other ones and I broke them and put on some cheapo ones I got from Midwest Cycle.

And then I saw that someone had posted dome spares and those were the black rubber ones.

    Make sense?

I just went out and checked, there's two parts. The proximal part is black rubber, it looks like the bending part of a bendy straw. The distal part is chrome.

Sound about right? I'm not even sure I'm looking at the right piece, but then, how many pieces can a rear turn signal have?

They mounting stalk for the rear turn signals-----which are the round, chrome-plated styles with a short chrome "neck".....are the shorty, flexible, round black rubber type with a "trench" cut into one side of the rubber at the turn signal housing end......this trench is where the turn signal neck cinch bolt passes through, as thus "locks" the turn signal onto the stalk.

There is a similar, but slightly longer, black rubber mounting stalk that is used with the XJ550 Seca, 1982 XJ750 Maxim, XJ650 Turbo, XJ750 Seca, and XJ900RK model turn signals. These stalks have a "rounded-square" chunk of rubber on the end of the stalk that fits into the matching shape neck of the turn signal housing.

The two style stalks are not interchangable.

The XJ11000 stalks are the chrome shaft style.
