This is my first post,so I hope it works. I found a 85 700x on ebay that needed alot of T.L.C. the air box boots were shot so I decided to put the pods on,not knowing all the trial and error with re-jetting the thing would require. After about 10 times trying different jets it runs tits, from idle to 10,000 rpm with no problems. I've read on here so many times on this awsome site that these will not work and stay away from them, you can get them to work,it will just take alot of time to get the things dialed in.Has any one with a 700x had sucess doing this?

You could save everybody else trying to tune an "X" to pods about 9 tries if you'd post what jets you ended up with.

The other question I would be curious about:
Have you rode one with the stock set-up and well tuned?

A dyno test might be interesting.

But (as bigfitz said) PLEASE share your results.

I have not driven one with a stock set up. I destroyed the air box trying to remove it,after I got it out, I figured out that you need to remove the starter.I put pods on and jetted it to work, than I found this web site saying these pods are way worse than the stock set up. So I bought another air box off Ebay to put on,I just need to buy the boots from the carbs to the box.So I never drove it stock. The pilot jet was 35 no it is 45,the main were 105's now they are 120's, and I put 2 .030 shims under the e-clip on the needle to lift it up.
