xj550 tork specs

    what are the tork specs for the outer bolts and inner bolts and what is the tork pattern when tightening down the valve cover :?: :!: ?

    The torque spec for all 12 bolts is only 7.2 ft/lb.

    Because they have stop collars, there is no "pattern" really necessary; I usually start by snugging them down starting with the center bolts then a criss-cross pattern for the outers but it may be overkill.

    It's listed in the torque specs chart in section 7 of the factory manual, under "engine" up near the top of the list.
