There are many things that YOU can do while riding a motorcycle that can cause you to crash. Experience and practice help prevent those things. There are also thing that you can't control, and the only defence is being ready and paying attention.

Of all the things that can happen there is one that I fear most:

Yep, one of many ways to get hurt.

That's why many of us leave our bikes in gear when stopped and check the mirrors frequently. Never know when you might need to make a quick getaway.

    Painting her fingernails?! W T F

I saw a lady today who was plucking her eyebrows while driving.

Yep, her license should be suspended indefinitely. Not that it will keep her off the road.

The scariest thing I've ever seen a person do while driving was a woman putting on eyeliner. Apparently she had no idea where that pencil would end up if she were hit from behind or hit someone else. *shudder*

Oh, that is too funny. So did I, on the freeway at about 75mph. At first I thought she was putting on eyebrow pencil but the car kept "twitching" when I got alongside I saw what she was really doing...

    She is guilty of:
    Reckless driving
Failing to maintain control of her vehicle
    Vehicular Manslaughter
At the very least. And this is by here *OWN* admission of painting her nails. I am sure there are more infractions, such as failing to stop at a red light.

She is guilty of murder. She had better not be driving for the next 10+ years. She had better be in prison!!

I didn't actually say it, I used an appropriate abbreviation, it is allowed in the southern belle hand book.

Yeah Fitz same deal but we were on a twisty back road in Southwestern VA.
When we got to the twined part I got as far away as fast as I could.

As to the article. The woman admitted she was painting her nails. I'm sure she will get some kind of jail time for vehicular manslaughter.

I would say she was guilty of criminal negligence, Failure to control her vehicle, vehicular homicide, failure to follow traffic control devices, and maybe reckless driving. If she has a good lawyer and is a decent looking mother with small kids she will be found guilty of the the lesser crimes... if she has a long history with the police she will do hard time...
