    All,

I recent purchased an 83 XJ550 maxim. The PO had gotten halfway through a carb rebuild and given up, so they were all in pieces. I've gotten them back together, but I can't figure out the throttle linkage for the life of me. I'll hunt around the forums for a good picture, but If someone could post a picture of the carbs with throttle cable attached I'll name my first born child in their honor!

    Thanks,
    C$

CMoney, are those Mikuni's or Hitachi's?

This might help - it's from last weekend when Mn-Maxims and I reassembled my carbs. A set of Mikuni's from my 550 Seca.

These weren't fully assembled, as they don't show the springs, but they're all lined up correctly otherwise.

    Kyrrinstoch,

That did it! I was missing a piece of the throttle linkage (circled in the picture). I must have set there for an hour trying to figure out how to make the throttle cable reach.

    Thanks,
