Any one know how to get a title for a bike without one. Perhaps changed hands more than once from the last titled owner without a title?

I filled out a lost title form and had the person who gave me the bike sign it. I then went to the DMV and spent about $15 dollars, and I got the title a few weeks later.

Laws vary from state to state. Some states don't require a title for older vehicles. There are many options usually - there are title services where you sell the bike to them they title it in an easy state then sell it back to you and you transfer the title. Most states accept some form of bonding to get a title.

Best bet is to check with Florida DMV - they deal with it regularly.

I have to agree with bill. I went through a similar situation and the dmv told me the exact steps to take which involved a bill of sale and a nototrized statement of facts. Had my title a couple of weeks later.

Looks like in Florida you fill out a form http://www.flhsmv.gov/html/forms.html (looks like the first one, "application for title" is the one) get the VIN verified by your local PD and pay your money.
