Seems as this is too often of an occurrence on these bikes.. maybe a lot of them because of all the power going through the regulator and age... Anyways..

I noticed the battery voltage sitting around 12.2... seemed low, but i figured it was probably the regular voltage for a charging system of the 80s. I did more research and found out it should be around the same as a car... Which prompted me to look at the connection for the regulator.

If anything I was expecting the brown (signal) wire to be corroded, unfortunately there seems to be a fried power wire (red).. I have a couple wiring harnesses from cars sitting around so ill be swapping an automotive connector of the same or larger gauge wire to go around that one connection.

Just wanted to remind people to check these things every once in a while.. this could have turned out badly if let go too long.. the yamagods were good to me this time.

:Bump: Im curious what that red wire does... power coming from the alternator or battery im imagining.. i attached a connector to go around the plug on that wire, bike seems happier.. i'm charging the battery so the stator wont have to.
