    Well, here 'tis guys.

Best license plate... ever. Seriously. Try and beat it. It won't happen.

Don't care if yours is gold plated, studded with diamonds, and has Bill Gate's wedding ring embedded in it.

    Won't beat it.

    Oh yeah. You know it.

Ok for the second part of the post...

Yesterday I checked all my plugs because I was bogging at low RPM again.

    Cyl #1 was real rich.
2, 3 + 4 all brown, not tan. Brown, with some black on one side only, on all 3... So, all rich, right? But more on #1.
So I tweaked at least just #1. Leaned it out. Bout 1/8th turn.
Get home - now it's white.

    Tweak 1/10 back.

Checked today - all four brown with light bit of black.
So... I drop BRAND NEW, freshly gapped (.028) plugs in all 4.

Go to work after a good few minutes warming up.
    Still bogging.

Get to work. On way home, set choke to get revs from 1050 to 1500.
Power is great at low end... Ride for a few miles with it like that, cut off choke.
Seems to be running damn good.
Hit the highway, drop 20 miles on it.

Get off highway into town. Bogging like a ------.
Get it home, idle for about 30 seconds. Kill it, and start pulling plugs.
Cly 1 that USED to be REAL rich, is now brown/light bit of black one side.
#2, 3 and 4... ALL CLEAN WHITE. Lean.

What the hell is going on... I didn't even TOUCH 2 3 and 4 screws.
The weather has been steady between 50-70.

What the heck is going on?

One thing I can say, ALL the CARBON buildup that used to be in the cylinders ON top of the piston crowns is now gone, and they are nice and clean.

What the heck man. Seriously. I have to check for leaks now, I hit some real harsh bumps today, and that might have done it. But what the hell.

And still yet nobody here can give me a clear answer as to whether another sync would help at all... and if so, at least more than MINORLY.

Anyway, I got my plate, and now I am running like ----.

Oh well... I'll get there someday. Would be nice to IDLE cleanly, pull away from a light without going paphapahppahp VROOOOOM.... and maybe even has some power back on the highway without giving more than 1/2 throttle... UGH.

I'll just keep looking at my plate and grinning... :)

Are all these chops at the same RPM and load?
Different rpm will give you different results.
Try colortuning again and see what they look like at that point.
If the springs are weak, under the screws, they can turn.

mainly I pull them after idling 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

what is proper procedure, how should I get them set right via plugs, since colortune is not an option till saturday.

This is what I did because I had no color tune.
Fabricate a temp gas tank, upside down 2liter with hose stuck in top, tank on table with long hose, what ever you have.
Get the bike warmed up with a ride.
Put it on center stand, get the tank off so you have access.
Put two box fans on high blowing on the motor.
Start her up, give her a couple revs, let her die down to an idle for a few seconds, hit the kill switch.
Pull the plugs, read the color and make adjustments to the screws, repeat a few hundred times.;)
After I got it as close as I thought possible I would do plug chops pulling into my driveway at 2500rpm, until everyplug was perfect.
    Time consuming but it workes.

    ... what?

thanks hound that is pretty much what I've been doing aside from the 2500rpm chop.

I just don't get how it can be dark brown 1 day, then white the next. but I did notice this morning I was very low on gas, in need of reserve but it still ran. maybe it was lean due to not enough fuel getting to the bowls?

ran ok after reserve this morning, still no bog but not full power, if I'm brown then I'm too rich and that's the cause.

will go see how they are now after the ride to work today and see where I'm at.

Andy is probably going to get XJ750 lol.

If I get the 650RJ going at some point that it is roadworthy again, I will get the plate "SECA"... yes, it's still available in NH :)

Just a thought, if you don't rev it up high enough or long enough to clean the plugs off in between chops you could be looking at a false reading.
