    Okay,

To start with, this would be a preventative measure only. I hear over and over that the Maxim-X coils eventually develop hairline cracks that cause them to short in rain or damp weather leaving you stranded.

I've been lucky so far. My bike runs great with the factory coils but I don't want to tempt fate. Has anyone ever dipped their coils in plasti-dip as a waterproofing preventative measure. How does it work?

    Any lessons learned?
