I would like to know if I can use a 22 or 16 Ah battery for my xj1100j.
My bike calls for a 20 amp but I have found batteries that are advertised for my bike that are top line duel function with a deep cycle and high CCA 680 for 5 sec. bla bla..... but it has 16 Ah not 20. I have seen others advertised with for my bike with 22 Ah. What is difference as far as my bike is concerned?
    Thanks :?

if you bike is hard to start the 20AH will crank it a little longer before it dies
but if it's tuned and starts easy you'll never know the difference
sometimes a warm bike seems like it would start with a couple of copper-tops

You can go bigger 22ah, I wouldn't go smaller.
Like Polock said if it fires right up, no problem.
If it's cold or you flooded it and have to crank on it you could be in trouble.
This is true especially when the battery gets older.
