    New:
Carb~Jug Boots, Top End Tear Down (Gaskets/clearance), Clutch Plates, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Oil Filter/Change, Rear End Oil Changed, new battery (4/28/06).

    Aftermarket:
Exhaust System (4 into 2)- Believed to be Mac, Paint- Red Mettalic, Seat Covering, Grips and Pegs are all Kuryakyn Iso Grips- Palm Lever

    Custom Powder Coating:
Grab Rail, covers, peg mounts, Rear Break Pedal. Really changes the appearance of the bike.

    Current Status:
Bike runs pretty good. Im not sure if a carb syn is truly needed, but a check at minimum couldnt hurt. It may or may not need one. From my now going on 3 summers of owning the bike and thinking/wondering I have come to realize what my bike does is common and is traits of the bike in general.

Currently the bike needs a new fuse block ($17), new rear tire and rear brakes should be replaced while doing. They are starting to get thin, may as well do it while the tire is off, right? ;)

This bike runs good. After long periods of not riding it I find it necessary to "prime" the system by opening the fuel petcock to the front (Gives gas right away!). I have run some seafoam through the bike since the top end tear down.

    Price:
Theres about $1,400 total in it at this point... Looking at reasonable offers or possible trades for a larger bike or a smaller 3-4 person jet boat??? (by jet boat I mean a semi recent and not with a huge V8 and headers!) More like this:

I like the bike dont get me wrong. Its just to small for me and my woman.

As for price Im unsure. I got around $1400 -1600 into it right now. I hate to dump 100-400 more into it only to get next to nothing out of it...

    Dunno...

Make offer. If it sounds good I will sign the title over :)

    Ryan,

Mike from Elmore. I see you are still trying to sell your XJ. I made you an offer back in November...you never replied back. Email me privately and we can talk. My daughter wants to learn how to ride, and having two of the same bike makes it easier on me.

Unless you don’t mind getting SPAM, personally I wouldn’t recommend posting email addresses in the forums. Better option is to use the “PM” (Private Message) function available here.

Just my 2 cents. Take it for what it’s worth.

Ps… If you want I can edit the post and remove the email addy

Ok bike has been sitting now for over two weeks.

This kind of bothers me as its not being enjoyed.

I currently have my entire head wrapped around a project car Ive been working on (1988 Beretta GT w/2.8 liter TURBO motor!).

I would like to sell this bike to someone who likes XJs and wants a clean one, or to a good home. Its been sitting and can sit for longer. I really dont "need" to sell it.

Any intrest? BTW its on craigslist also and I have received some inquiries but nodoy has $$$

Had to put a new post up on craigslist as the old one expired.

Bike is still for sale. I have been able to ride it around town a few times this last month. Only for about 2 miles worth though and back to its parking spot.

Wish I would of kept receipts for this baby so I know if Im closer to 1400 or 1600 into it :( AH oh well, bad investment. Oh well she sits to she sells or I decide to just keep it :)

I hope you are able to properly stow her away for your sunny day rides, the sentiment you display for your ride is just killin' me. '88 Beretta? Why would you want one of those? Drove one around Davis, CA. as a teenager and it was a gutless wonder (turbo might help, but I'm not betting on it). Besides, its easier to store the bike and the parts are cheaper (plus, girls love bikes).

Well not going to put the turbo in the car, rather than that a ton of audio.

Car Audio is my #1 hobby and sometimes love :D

I do like the motorcycle, but as I said the GF wont get on it.

Im afraid if I put another woman on the back of it I might become a John Bobbit!

You can hold out and get what you need out of the bike. I looked for a long time before I found mine. I bought it cause it was my pick for an all around bike in 86 when I was racing a gsxr for Suzuki.

    Cheers,

It would be nice to get $2K out of her. Lord knows time and actual money into it is over that :)

I fear I will be doing good to get my reserve.

Ya its an E Bay auction. SO when the buyer shows up they can get a small test ride in the parking lot where I live and thats it as the plates will have expired. THeres no haggling at that point either. Cash or money order :)

I sure hope you get more than that for it. I paid $1100 for mine, it was no where near the shape that your beautiful bike is in. I shot myself in the foot big time on my purchase. We live and learn for our mistakes. Good Luck, I've been watching it progress on Ebay. Usuaally nothing big happens until the last couple minutes of the auction. Get a buddy or 2 to bid on it to raise the price...Ooops, that would be devious!

Still just a tad over $1,000!!!

I set the reserve at 1,000 figuring I would be lucky for it to get there, now Im wishinh I would of put her up to 1200-1400 area. Probably would of got it :(

Only a few hours left. Once they come its all cash and pink slips and shes outta here.

Think next summer Im going to buy my V Max Ive been squaking about for over a year now :)

$1,150 was the final selling price...

Ouch, it truly was a loss on this.
