Any one got an "old skool" or new for that matter to remove this old head shes barely budging with about an hour of rubber mallets and short 2 x 4s.

Hell Ive seen old cars pop easier.

Are you sure you have all the bolts removed? Apart from the main head bolts, there are normally a few allen bolts hidden around the place to catch you out.

I used a car body dent tool. A hard plastic one that had a flat rear that was around an inch and half or two inches wide and used that flat surface against the bottom fin. Don't hit too hard or it will break the aluminum fin. Main thing is to just do a little bit of one corner at a time. A rubber mallet has to much "give" to it and a 2x4 isn't going to concentrate the impact enough.

But as Hillsy mentioned, make absolutely certain you've loosened all your bolts first.

Yes please make sure you have all the nuts/bolts loosened, even if you have a service manual look around.

I ruined a shadow 500 crank cause there was an extra bolt the Clymer manual didn't show me when splitting the cases.

Let me tell you, I was pissed! Never trust those manuals 100%

It should pop off without excessive force; you probably do have a bolt in place still.

Just had mine off last weekend first time it was ever off with 22k on engine and 1 pop with rubber maller and it liffed off. Sounds like something not taken off.
