I am curious - just how much is a ready-to-ride in good shape worth?

(Not that I am looking to sell ...) Somewhat curious to know ...

It depends. I have been watching prices and seen everything from $650 on the low end to $2500+ on the upper end.

I've been watching since February, and the only one that I have seen for sale in my area is the one that I have.

Go here, and search on Maxim X, and you can take a look across all Craig's List postings.

technically you could have ridden mine when I bought it We test drove it. It had a dent in the tank carbs weren't too bad(it started right away and idle drove decent but had a slight hesitation) It had a dent in the tank and the seat was ripped. I felt the tires needed replaced(which I did before it left the garage after I bought it) I paid 900 bucks. Now everything has been gone threw and replaced on this bike that needed attention I have a few cosmetic things(blinker is scuffed as well as the mirror) little things. The tank has been bumped out and the bike has been repainted) I think 1600-1800 would be a fair price although I wouldn't sell it for under 2000 personally.

True story. Ready to go, no tuning required X could easily go for 1500-2000.
If I ever plan on selling my XJ700, all rastafied and customed, tuned and set, I wouldnt sell for anything less than 1600. Thats how much I've put into it.

I was looking through some old ebay info I had the other day and forgot about a non-X XJ700 that sold earlier in the season. It was in really good shape from the pics and pulled down $2,026 during bidding. When I went back to pull it up, the seller is no longer a registered user. So, that deal may have fell apart.
