    Hey everyone! Good to see this wonderful forum still going strong for the beloved XJ. I do miss my Maxim but I changed bikes when I posted here last and got to work on it right away. I had a Honda XL600 also that I rode when I had my XJ and now it is gone as well. I do miss being active here because the membership was always respectful and anxious to help anyone in need. I was going to sync and tune my XJ but fell in love with another bike before I could do it and the rest is history. I sold the XL too and just have one bike now....here's a pic:

    I purchased a professional 12mm Gunson Colortune set to use on the XJ but never got the chance to do the work. I thought of this place when I decided to get rid of the kit because it is the wrong size for the Kaw. Here's a pic of it also:

    I'm not selling the kit anywhere else and I know it's not the right place in the forum but I wanted to say hello too and not just sell something. I know I paid near $200 after shipping for the kit and It fits a 550 for sure. I'm not looking to get rich off the deal but I could use a part for my ZRX. It would be a good deal because all I want is a headlight assembly so I can get rid of the mini fairing. I know it's functional on the highway but I want to make the bike totally naked. It measures around 8 inches across the mounting brackets and I'd like to get a chrome one. The ZRX is an Eddie Lawson replica of the KZ and has that old school flair that would look good totally naked. Yes...I still like the old school look like the XJ and also the in-line 4. Oh well...hope all is well with everyone!

    The kit is on hold for Robert until after this weekend or so.

    Was just messing around one day and did this to a pic of my bike. I know you would rather see Yamaha flames but the flames coming from this Kaw aren't real. LOL

    Just got an XJ bucket...loving life!! Maybe the bike will go faster now. :)

    This one is a 2000 1100cc that you can get at a reasonable price. I tripped across this one and I just had to have it. I lost both of my previous bikes, having to sell them for it, but I'm happy with it anyway. It's a very well balanced and stable bike to ride. Kawasaki jumped quickly to produce a 1200cc ZRX but I don't like them as well as the 1100cc ones. I love riding this bike and it has more power than anyone really needs and can handle the twisties much better than the 1200cc ZRX. Kawasaki hit the target with this one by creating a nostalgic look of old but with modern performance. The old KZ was a powerful bike but can't handle the corners as well as the newer bikes. Kawasaki was Boss when they came out with the KZ1000 and Eddie Lawson helped to prove that on the track. I'll always be a Yamaha fan but Kawasaki deserves credit for improving an old design that will be lost forever to the newer generation of bikes. You sit upright on the ZRX and it has a functional niche in the market as a cruiser/super bike mix. I put drag bars on mine to help cut the wind hitting my body on the highway but if I hug the tank I still can sit upright for the most part. Tour with it or kick some a$$ on the track...it's your choice because it's "The Green Meanie". I liked my Maxim because it was a cruiser style bike that performed like a sport bike with the in-line 4 but the ZRX leans more toward the sport bike classification like the Seca does. The XJ helped pave the way to bikes like this and are still wonderful bikes to own and enjoy because they handle so well and look great too with plenty of power. More and more of them get wrecked or neglected daily and saving one will help preserve history and give people something to admire on the road or in a parking lot. I like liquid cooled bikes but the radiator is ugly and I miss showing off my chrome 4 into 2 pipes.

    I have always been a fan of the Z'Rex. I almost bought one before I found my last zx11. You do know that the zrx engine is based off the zx11 design and many parts will interchange right? Most people swap the cams out for the zx ones as they are much hotter. The ignitors will swap too and give a much more agressive timing curve. My neighbor had a zrx 1200 identical to yours aside from the rack. Great bikes, they will run forever with proper maintenance.

    Yes, I read about the ZX11 relationship and it's a worthy option for sure. I am so impressed by this bike that everything else I do to add performance will just be icing on the cake for me. I'd like to have forks similar to the ones in this pick.

    I think that even the hardcore Yamaha fans can agree with the girl looking good on the bike. LOL

    I like Yamaha's answer to the ZRX and may have purchased this monster XJR if I could get one. Hats off to XJ's and Yamaha....wish it was a better pic. :(

    Old school is totally gone with the new generation bikes to kick us into the future. Here's some eye candy... nice concepts as an example just around the corner;

    [IMG]

    Radical changes with full fairings being obsolete and replaced by parts that look moulded into the bike. The Japanese love their naked bikes and have made it the future for all bikes....just an opinion.

    This nice 750 catches my eye and looks like it would be fun to ride;

    Here's a picture of my dog Lucy on her first birthday. LOL

    Oh...I just wanted to make a point that the new era of bikes have arrived. You can buy a ZRX cheap for the cc's it has and it isn't really a hot seller for Kawasaki. Most of the younger breed bikers have their eyes on the latest technology...as far as the newer bike market goes. Only old farts like me would buy an older looking newer bike. LOL Just an opinion...I think that a majority of younger bikers turn their noses up at it alone for the dual shocks that scream old school or cruiser looking or...what the heck is that thing...it can't be newer....why would anybody build such a thing when frames and suspensions have evolved already...or..that's cool (with dreams of that chromed out sport bike with the under-tail exhaust that they want) I'm afraid that most of the market is us older guys that have gone through our "mid-life crisis" and/or have married women who won't let us spend bigger money and get that ie:Triumph Rocket 3....love that bike too! We have a need to cruise in our past era of memories and enjoy intimidating Harley's and hot dogs that ride smaller cc sport bikes. LOL
