    XS,

Welcome to the board. You will love it here as there are a bunch of great guys who are extremely smart with bikes who are able and willing to help you.

If you are an XS man, you need to get in touch with tiny on this board. I know for a fact he has a herd of them. More than several.

    Again, welcome.

Hello, and welcome,John. I'm the guy that gave you the XS 650 Special and Heritage Special tank emblems. Tune my '81 Special to your specs (reduced compression and your personally engineered needles),and I'll give you my titled 1982 XJ650 Maxim, plus a boatload of spare parts. But you'll have to pick it up in 13160.
    You'll like the brainpool here...

Welcome john. Wamaxim is right, I have an xs650 or two laying around, the motorcycle fairy just dropped them off one day :) . Any idea where a guy could find a gas tank for a 1970-0973 xs650?
And welcome to the forum. Great guys here with plenty of knowledge.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.......Tiny.........ebay is still the place for gas tanks.......but since the XS forum has filled up everything is getting higher................better stock up....

Got the carbs great on the XJ650......raised the 40 pilots to 42.5 at 2 turns as she runs great.............having to change the cam chain..........loose as a goose..........it has the same ole wine that everyone complains about.........and notchy shifting..........and it is geared way way to low with a pumpkin.....It's my sons so he will hust have to suffer...........

Danno..........I can move the cam for the 8-1 XS.........purs now........and thanks for the badges..........

wamaxim and wizard thanks for the welcome also..........

I can take an XS650 apart in my sleep.........bet I have to stay awake on the xj....TO SAY THE LEAST.........

AND..........looked at my classification....."Biker Wannabe"........What the heck is that.....only been riding for 50 years........

Welcome xsjohn. This is the best site to get any help for your Yammy.
"Biker Wannabe" is for how many times you write on the board. Nothing to do with riding. :)

I know ... :D ... just being the smart ass that I am..........
    and thanks for the welcome..........

THe XJ650 came to me with just the headers......was fun building the collectors for 2-1 on both sides but it turned out good and was cheap....1 1/2 pipe bent up 9 degrees under the pegs and 1 1/4 copper pipe fits perfect inside the 1 1/2" muffler pipe on the ends....so headers fit snug...welded the second cylinder in with an angle pipe........honda 750 Muffs........which were new and free.........will show a pic sometime.....total cost for a decent exhaust was maybe 20 dollars......with the free pipes of course......bet harley pipes would be good too.....and cheap too..........

    Welcome John,
I have a soft spot for XS650s as well. Got a few hanging around. I am pretty dedicated to Yamaha and have owned Seca Turos for years. I am in Kannapolis. Are you NC guys going to make Gold HIll this year? If you need particulars let me know.
    Again, Welcome
