So i went to my local weld shop today and apprenticed my Brackets. Looks good! My only prob is that its a little noisy when going over bumps. The steel brackets "bounce" a bit from the jolt and the boxes handles jingle real loud. other than that it looks greaaat! As tony the tiger would say.
Anyway, I'll have enough materials to make more in about a week or two, so if you want some, (I'll be selling the cans and the brackets seperate or as a whole) Let me know!
Currently I just have dimentions for my XJ700N, Which also measures for the 700X as well. Not sure what else these ones fit, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

I'd love a set for my '82 XJ750 Maxim. Is it possible to get you some dimensions or something? I just need the brackets. What size cans are those? About how much for a set of brackets mailed to 20815? Thanks a lot!

Those are .50 cal ammo boxes. They got enough clearance from the exhaust, so they dont get hot while driving. They get a little warm on idle, but not too hot to touch.
    50 cals are 11"x6"x5"
Even has enough clearance for a passenger.
Whats the distance on your grab bars bolts? Take a measurment from the outside of one bolt, to the inside of the other, that'll give me the center of each

'cept that if no one can see it, it is hard to decide If we trust your engineering, or like the design.

Is it removable? I.e. How long does it take to remove the cans if I want to take them into a hotel room on the road?
Does it require modification of any part of the bike?
Will it work with different cans? How about with my sissy bar?
I have spent many hours trying to find a solution to this problems that answers those questions to my satifaction. If you have beat me to 'the' (heck, 'a') solution I am more than happy to pay you for it. I just want to know what I am getting myself into.

Just so I get the dimensions right, could you be a little more specific about which measurements you need? If I'm looking from the back of the bike, you want the outside of the right bolt for the grab bar to the inside of the left bolt for the grab bar? Sorry for the confusion....

Yes its removeable. I'm working on a prototype for a "quick release" function. But It bolts on behind your (edit) Grab bar. No frame mods, no moving of the turn signal.
It'll work with diff cans if they are still 11-13 in long, so you dont have to move the turn signals. You'd just have to drill the holes into the new can. Takes 2 min to remove and 1 min to put back on the grab bars.
Sissy bar would require another bracket, one that wraps around the two bars.
