Right now it's rainy as you are probably experiencing too. But the weather is lots cooler than Phx that's for sure. And the scenry is definatly greener.

Wow... success (for the most part). This was a great weekend for the ole bike. Shes runnin.. ain't purrin yet but rideable. thank so much XJ650RJ and his crew. The whole sf-bay area clinic was spent mostly on my bike. I was on the right track but its definitely good to get some personal guidance. Can't wait to get to go to another one of these. hopefully, I wont be as noobish and can contribute some and share the knowledge. Being a new rider, it was great to talk to these guys not only about xj's but their experiences and mistakes. Definitely made me better rider. As far as the bike is concerned, everyone is under the conclusion that the carbs are good to go-but the bike needs some valve adjustments to get her soundin pretty.

Hey Robert, I talked to XJ650RJ about when you are in town. Perhaps we can arrange a meet and greet- well, we should meet and greet as well. You said you had some people that are around the area that need some help- perhaps that impromptu clinic is not a bad idea. I have a friend who could use some help on his triumph. I know he will definitely appreciate even just sittin in and learning. Unfortunately, I don't have a garage. Is there a venue that I could look into renting for this purpose. I could do all the leg work.

Oh and BM. definitely need to extend my gratitude to you as well....You are the one that started this whole thing by hookin me up with these guys.

    This site ROCKS...

I'd be glad to volunteer my time when I'm up there. Just limited on what all I can provide insofar as tools are concerned. And bear in mind, I'm not a carburator wiz! I can hold my own with them but heaven help me if I could explain what I understand to anyone else. Valve clearances we can do no problem.

Ain't Peter cool! Glad this worked out for you buddy. Peter is a strong supporter of checking valves before tuning carbs. Looks like this time his method was proved out. If they colortuned and synced and it still isn't purring then only things left are some dirt in the carbs somewhere, coils, caps, plugs or valves. It wouldn't hurt to check all these except the carbs. If they liked what they saw on the colortune then I would skip this until all else was checked.

Robert, if you ever do a carb clinic in Arizona, I will do my best to be there. I also am in the White Mountains of Arizona. Thanks.....Bob

I'd love to head out there once I'm settled and the motor is back in the frame! I've not been out to AZ since '93 and enjoyed it very much.
