so I went to start the bike today and the engine must have been on a weird stroke or something cause it locked. I read this somewhere before and remember the only two ways to spin the motor again would be to remove a plug or two, or just wait for the gas to evaporate.

So I pushed the starter button 3 times and the last time guess what, no console ignition light, no sound of relays or anything when I turn the key ON now. All fuses are good. It's been 5 hours and still no response from teh key

Someone please say 'oh you need a new blank'

    Bike...

haha! jk... sounds like the ignition is going... but not sure.
Really not any good guesses, let some other guys have a whack.

Did you try manually turning it over?

KEY OFF obviously, take the left sidecover off and turn the flat nut with a 19mm wrench and don't hit the pickup on the edge.

Actually - did you check the battery terminals? If a battery cable popped off, you won't get any power anywhere. My guess lies there, and maybe when it locked up (is that hydro lock?) that jolted the battery cable loose. Hence the no start. That's my guess!

thanks, 12.6V at the batt and connections real good, bike's always been garaged.
Think I should have mentioned that the key was a little 'iffy/difficult' to find the good On position. 1mm to far too the right and the green ignition light would go off, 1mm to left - right on.

I guess I could jump out the wires before the keyswitch, anyone know which ones?

oh, and I can take the key out in the On position.
