DIODE BLOCK WIRING QUESTION ****UPDATE***UPDATE**

    To all who have checked out my posting, HERE IS AN UPDATE...Sorry I left out some very important information. The bike in questions is a 1982 Seca XJ750RJ. The diode block is located inside the headlight bucket. The following is a description of the wiring from the diode to its connector and from the female connector to the wiring harness:
    Diode block: (5) wires - Black with red stripe - solid dark green - white with light green stripe - solid white - dark blue with white stripe.
    Female connector to wiring harness:
    (4 wires) - white with blue stripe - solid light blue - dark blue with light green stripe - solid white.

    Hello all you XJ bike lovers..I need some help!!! I mistakenly disconnected one of the connectors from the coupler that joins the Diode block to the wiring harness. When I started to reconnect it, I noticed something peculiar. The diode block has five wires going into its male end, while the female coupler only has four! It would have been a simple thing to just match the color of the wires, but as most of you know not all the wires match.
    Can someone please reply giving me the corresponding wiring matches? I also looked deep into my Haynes as well as my genuine Yamaha service manual and neither was of any help.

    There are probably half a dozen different diode blocks among the different XJ models out there. We really need to know what bike you're talking about.

    Your setup matches mine. Since my system works fine, I'd guess yours is correct too.

    You shouldn't need it, since the connectors are keyed, but just in case:

    Diode Block - Chassis
    -------------------------------
    W - W/L
    Bk - N/C
    G - L/Y
    W/G - W
    L/W - Sb

    These are all listed in the Haynes manual. If you don't have one, you really should get one.

    W = White
    L = Blue
    Sb = Light Blue
    G = Green
    Bk = Black
    Y = Yellow
    N/C = Not Connected

    A slashed pair of colors indicates the base wire color plus the stripe color, so W/G is a white wire with a green stripe.
