I was wondering if anyone had a the rubber connection boots that go on the front of the carbs(the side closest to the front of the bike). If you have any extras or ones in good shape you would be willing to sell please post back. Thanks.

Intake manifolds. Run about $100 give or take for new ones. Hope you score some decent used.

For a bike this old and the heat they have went thru I doubt they are good used.

Buy new and be done with it. I did a few self repairs and thought I had it licked. Ran into some extra $$$ and bought them... Man what a difference.

I bought a S/H set of intake boots on e'bay a couple of weeks ago and they are in pretty good nick. There is a set for a xj700 currently on offer on e-bay, not sure whether they will fit a 650. Why not ask the seller for a clearer picture?

If your really hard up, I do have a few used sets laying around, but they are showing their age. I guess I could try to RTV and bike inner tube them just for fun. I'll get back to you Thor. I'm rather busy this weekend.

Hardware stores have a black, two-part, epoxy resin that will seal-up the cracks and do a great job holding the fort until you find suitable replacements.

The twin syringes provide the correct mix for the epoxy and hardener. Mix-up a little bit at a time and let it drip into the cracks off the end of a toothpick.
Have a whole box ox toothpicks handy. Use fresh ones each time you add a touch of the epoxy.

You'll have about 3-minutes (+/-) to flood the leaks with epoxy. It hardens in about 10-minutes -- cures to become a permanent part of the manifold in 24-hours.

Someone took a long at mine and said they would hold up for a year or 2 more. Can i put the epoxy on it now and wait that long (maybe redo it in time) Or do you think it wouldend up making them go faster then they would if i waited a bit longer?

its not that they are cracked. They are dryrotting and lines are forming on the rubber which will lead to cracking. Im trying to get as much life out of them as possible due to money issues. I just failed my inspection test becuase they say i need a new front tire fron dry rot issues and the berings in the front are shot due from sitting in a garage and not being moved for a year or 2.
