    Used V-Star 1100 Custom year 2000

Needs a new battery. OEM in Canada costs 200$ (from what I'm told)

Should I go for the OEM battery of a replacement at lower cost?

tks but the Canadian side of Sears doesn't seem to have it.
Too expensive to have it shipped from the States...

Go with a Yuasa. There is a reason why the majority of bike, atv, and pwc manufacturers use them. The sears diehard, walmart everstart, and most auto parts store batteries are made by GNB batteries. Some say made by Johnson controls but it is just a subsidiary of GNB. They are good batteries but are not in the same class as a Yuasa. You can save $20 or so and replace the battery every year or two (two only if you are lucky). or you can buy a yuasa and maintain it properly (<----properly is a key factor here) and it will last for years and years. I have not had one fail that was under 3 years old and have had several last 5-6 years. My bikes are not garage queens but when they are sitting they are plugged into a trickle charger.
