Just wanted to share my first ride to work with everyone, as this is the first non-rainy day in what seems like 3 months...

I took off at about 6:30 this morning and buzzed my way into work, no traffic anywhere at this hour. I have a really nice ride to work, not that it's long enough. I get to go pretty much on back-roads here in rural western mass all the way, with only a short jaunt on a divided highway. The ride went great, the XJ performed awesome, and I think maybe I could get used to this 'cycling thing.

The bike was a hit at work, even the Harley guys seemed to like it! Got a fair amount on compliments on the shape it's in, even though I think it's still pretty rough.

Following a wonderful (yeah right, try crappy!) day at work, I set out for the inspection station, about 30 minutes north. Another decent ride, just more traffic this time as I had to go downtown to get there. Not that downtown in too crazy around here. The bike passed with flying colors!

Just wanted to share, Ride safe!

    Sounds awesome!

It's always nice too when they pass inspection with no issues!

as far east as you can get in michigan 43.027407,
its always NICER when the government doesnt have its hand up your ass for another administrative BS program with its associated fees and penalties...

at 6:30 i would already have been at work for an hour, and the no traffic thing? jeez id have to be on the road about 0330-0400 for no traffic. THAT would be nice...

Riding the work and home is the highlight of my day. Running the bike through the gears, hitting the curves.... The ride's too short though :(

Hope your weather holds up !

I ride to work all the time except when there is 50% chance of rain, its very addictive.

Fortunately here in SC we don't have to be "inspected" and "approved" by the government (what a rip!). Good luck and ride safe.

Even though I got the bike for the gas mileage, I love riding it to work. I have been riding to work nearly every weekday since Thanksgiving. Took 2 weeks off when it snowed and drove the 4x4. Rain, sun and wind...I laugh at it every time I pass the gas station. I work with about 2 dozen riders of all kinds and get a lot of ribbing when it's pouring, but with the right gear, I just ride slower and don't hurry when it rains. I love the commute on my bike and even do many of my errands on it. 50mpg is nearly triple what I get in my cage and with $3 gas, I love the cheap fillups. Ride safe all.

I find that I don't save as much on gas as I'd hoped I would. Granted I get almost twice the mileage on the Maxim but I also frequently take a much longer route home! :D Oh well, at least I'm putting less miles on my car!

True story. I'm usually like, "Awh man.. I gotta work today. But i get to ride!!" And all day at work I'm like, "Man this sucks.. cant wait to get out and ride home" Ride being the key word that puts a smile on my face.
Lol, cheap fill ups true. But I take a longer route home too. So i dont save any money on gas, but I enjoy my trips more.
I used to put 25 a week in my car to get around. Now I just put 20 in the car, and the other thirty bucks in the bike for two weeks :)
Anyone hear about the bill being passed about cars and trucks that get less than 18 mpg??

i just started riding myself and i remember my first ride in. It was awesome and the reaction from my co-workers was pretty cool too! I think the greatest thing is if you had a crapy day at work, to come home and hop on the bike is the sweetest release. I just regret not doing this sooner in life!
