How much more fuel does a 750 tank hold over the 650 tank?

on my 650 tank i cruised about a hundred miles then filled up, i switched to the 750 tank and i cruise about 130 before i fill up, ive never hit the reserve in the tank so i dont know actually how far i can go, my bikes milage seems to jump around quite a bit from 41 mpg to about 49 mpg.

Sorry to divert your thread, but it looks like your question has been answered. So here it goes.

    What model/year 750 tanks will fit a 80 XJ650?

    Thanks.

a 750 Seca tank will fit nicely on the 650 mounts, but it will not match the seat and the sidecovers without modifying the seat and cutting on the tank a bit. This is exactly what I'm going to do with my 650 project.

To be more specific, the 750 tank holds exactly 6 litres more fuel than the 650's -- 19 vs 13 -- with a 3 litre reserve on both.

Any 750 Maxim tank will fit your Maxim - be aware that they have a fuel sender unit in them, so you can either figure out a fuel gauge, or just leave it unused.

An XJ750 MAXIM tank will interchange directly with an XJ650 MAXIM tank. Direct bolt up, no mods at all. Mileage increase--- i would go to reserve at about 90 mi and gas up between 100 and 105. I installed a 750 tank on my 650 about three years ago. Now I got to reserve around 130-140, and can go to 150 before fueling. I have gone as far as 179 mi, but that's when I ran out of gas (only 4 mi from home on a long return trip, too......figures) But, if I go to 150, I better find a gas station quick, cuz I don't want to push my luck past 155 which I have been able to reach.

Yes, I have a 650 Maxim tank on my 750 Seca build and it was a perfect fit with no modifications. Of course the seat and side covers will not fit perfect, but mine was a bobber project, so I was making sidecovers and a seat to fit anyways.

    Here's what it looks like:
