Does anyone know if there is someone out there that sells OEM, or builds aftermarket wiring harnesses for these bikes? I would think not as it is quite a niche market, but I figured it was worth asking. I not only have the hacked up, melted, fuses soldered together, joke of a harness that was on my bike when I bought it, (and yes the bike even ran although I don't know how!) I have bought 2 other used harnesses to try to capture the best to work with to rewire the bike, and although better, I worry about the quality of the connections to keep the resistance down and keep enough power to the ignition. If there is nothing out there readily available, does anyone have any experience with fabricating anything or have any ideas on where to get or if you can get the original style terminals and housings?

    Fode,

I found a place called Z1 Enterprises. I've never done business with them, but they seem to have all of the connectors for my 82 650 maxim. I'm guessing they'll be the same for your seca.

I've considered making replacement harnesses for these bikes, but haven't had a chance to really explore that avenue yet.

You rang??? I've not gotten all of my materials together but I know that Chacal has been trying to get a good bid on replacement harnesses...indicating to me that there is someplace somewhere that would build them for us if the money was right.
Right now, it is easiest for me to refurbish existing harnesses but this does not address the original problem with these harnesses. Ambient exposure over 20+ years and the wires have started to corrode. I will repair anyone's harness provided they can provide me with detailed information on location and length of any type of harness for a bike I don't currently own. If I own it, I've got you covered. You cover parts and shipping. The repairs are guaranteed but I cannot be responsible for damage caused by old age and corrosion so don't holler at me about it, yell at Yamaha.
I can take the earthly remains of a few harnesses and build one good unit if that is what is desired or I can build custom additions.
