I am starting a long term project, 81 xj maxim that i got for free from a friend, not running, no history. I Have it down to bare frame, the top end is getting a valve job and I am trying to get some rings and plugs from chacal. I want something unique when I am done , so I am stretching the frame and lowering the head tube. I am fabricating my own springer style front end, am still working out the details of the rear. I look forward to becoming an XJ rider but it may take a while.

I love it when people use their imaginations and get creative with these bikes. Welcome, good luck, and keep those pics coming!!!

And if you come up with a good springer front end design for the Maxim, you might even make a bunch of new friends here! :D
