    Hi there,
I found a great pair of six inch over forks and a spoaked rim off a 76 yamaha XS, complete with triple trees. Want to put them on my 81 Midnight Maxim. UNfortunately the fork diameters are different. 34 on XS and 36 on Maxim. Is there any way I can make it fit easily? Does anyone know if those triple trees are interchangeable?

    Thanks!

I'm not necessarily saying I recommend this to anyone else, but if it were me I'd probably be looking into the possibility of shimming them. A 1mm shim should make up the difference nicely.

I would see if the triple trees off the XS650 fit the XJ. Seems safer than shimming the forks.
