    i have a bad headlight relay cant find correct one can i jump white wire (altenator output) to blue/black wire ( to headlight) these wires are for relay by the way headlite will run off alt power i think it does anyway
    will this work? or will it mess things up

    What bike?

    Head light does not run off alternator. Alternator is used to pick the relay, then a diode is used to latch he relay using 12V line. Headlight runs of 12v line switched by relay contacts.

    You can jumper it but you need to jumper the "relay contacts" (the two wires closed by the relay).

    83 650 maxim so just use the red batt wire instead of the white and these are the wires going to the relay
