Well, yesterday I sold my Seca ('81 550) to a friend of mine who is in the process of obtaining his license (taking the MSF Basic Rider course soon, etc) and was looking for a good bike for commuting to/from work.

It'd been a great bike for me and quite the learning experience. I hope it turns out the same for him as well. I learned quite a bit as I went through and did some long overdue maintenance on it - everything from rear brakes and rebuilding the carbs to adjusting the valves and replacing the fork seals.

The nice part is that I've already referred him over to this site, since this is the single best resource for these machines. I expect that he should be joining soon.

And yes, I've already bought another bike - Just not an XJ though.

Sorry to see you go - maybe there is another XJ in your future. At least you get to see her now and again.

I'll still be popping here now and again. Just because I don't ride an XJ any longer doesn't mean the friendships I made while I had one went along with the bike :)

I'll also be helping out my friend with any questions/issues he runs into with the bike. I also plan on trying to make it as a "visitor" to one of Mn-Maxim's Carb clinics and any area rides/events that are not exclusively for XJBikes.com members.
