So i figured out my lean condition. My intake manifolds are cracked and sucking in air everytime you blip the throttle. You can almost see them breathing with the throttle. Ive checked ebay and didnt find much for replacement. Any other way to repair these or even replace with something else? (pvc, rubber pipe?)

Please help really dont want to run my motor as lean as it is.

You can Roll the Dice and try this stuff.

    The "Spray is new".

You use the stuff in the can.
    Not the spray.
Pour some inside the back of the Manifold and "Float-Coat" is on by rotating the Manifold to allow the product to coat everywhere.

+++ Necessitates the Removal of the Intake Manifold.
+++ Manifold Fasteners are Soft Steel and may be Seized.
+++ A SEIZED Fastener --> WILL BREAK-OFF BEFORE BREAKING LOOSE!

I've had to do a few that way.
There's NO way I'm going to risk messing with those Manifold Bolts.
One false move and your in way over your head for a lousy air leak.

The thing to do is lay-down some Masking Tape that you can Pull-off there before the RTV solidifies.
A straight line does look better than a smeared-on jog if you have the time.

I used GOOP to seal my intakes and it worked perfect. I coated the whole outside and let it set (dries clear like hard tire rubber) and painted them black with high heat paint. They still look and work perfect three years later. After trying to remove them, I decided on just keeping the original ones on and sealing them. Why not? Atleast the GOOP won't be cracking any time soon.

I have a feeling that Intake Manifold Deterioration and Manifold O-Ring Seals are going to be the next "Plague" of problems for everyone.

Mine came off without a hitch. What's the big deal? You strong arm mugs playing rough?

I put plenty of loc-tite on mine, so I'll have no problem getting them out next time.

Some people are lucky and manage to get the Manifold Fasteners out without a fuss.
But, it seems that there is a Gremlin which haunts the XJ Family.
And, depending upon the urgency of needing to remove the Manifold Cap Bolts, solidifies them in a state of seizure whicn causes them to break right off.

Leading to misery instead of otherwise.
