81 Seca 550 For Sale

Alright folks I am offering it up here first because I know you all appreciate these bikes. The bottom line is that I am going to look at an 08 Triumph Scrambler on Saturday and the only thing that will keep me from buying it is if it falls apart when I sit on it. Anyway, the Seca has a little under 19,000 miles, dont remember exactly. Currently it has clubmans with bar end mirrors and smaller cats eye signals and the necessary flasher relay changed. I have the original signals, relay and mirrors. I also have a set of Raask rearsets that would look cool with the clubmans but I never got around to putting them on. Also comes with the bars that were on it when I got it, look like they weren't originals though.

The bad stuff: Carbs are off the bike and one of the float pillars is broken off. Was going to JB weld together, havent had time. The bike was starting but having trouble idleing without choke. Me thinks its a combo of float level and carb sync. One of the pilot jets is bungled and needs to be excavated by means other than screwdriver. I cut the seat foam down to make it flat and recovered myself with Marine Grade Vinyl from JoAnn Fabric. It looks ok.

Thats all I can think of for now. I'm outside Philthy near the Intl Airport right off 95. XJers price is $500 cash.

Well, I bought the Scrambler. Still trying to get rid of the Seca.

 

i'm up in ontario and if i was closer i would have been right over. my nephew is looking for a bike.

Would you consider just selling the Raasks?

 

Update Bump:

Had the Seca out on the road today for the first time in a long time. Had it idleing just under 1500 rpms and it was idleing smooth. Only problem was that it would rev high to about 4000 when I would squeeze the clutch in to shift. So there it is, back together and running and still for sale. Just needs someone with a little time and patience to get it dialed in.

And PJB: I havent forgot about you. If the Raasks don't go with it, I will let you know.
