    I have a 82' with alloy bars.

I want to replace them with a round syle mounts to give me more options. Do I have to change the upper triple tree or can I just use risers? I saw someone with Seca mounts but the pics were not clear. I see that the lower mounts are removable but from that point I am lost.

I guess that I will just tear off what I have and see it I can find some risers that will work.

    Here is what I found.

Will I have to chage the upper portion of the triple trees to use a round bar?

I am attempting the same thing. Can anyone please point me in the right direction. I need to find the right triple tree to make this mod to round bars.

    Thank you

I have the upper triple clamp, or crown from a '82 Seca 750.
It comes with rubber isolated handlebar clamps- - 7/8
And fits 36 MM fork tubes. PM me.

Toy can just remove the splined mounts off the upper tree and drill holes in there to mount risers. t's pretty straight forward mod to do. My risers are mounted solid, with no rubber isolators and there's no problem. There isn't enough vibration with these smoooooooth running four bangers to need rubber bushings anyways.

The only photo I have doesn't show the risers and how they are mounted on the upper tree because of the accessories I have mounted on the bars (sorry)
First, get the handlebars you plan to use on the bike. Then measure the distance between where the risers clamp onto the bars. That will be the measurement you need between the riser holes on the upper tree.
I bolted mine on with locking nuts so the riser bolts don't come lose (safety factor)
The upper tree is easy to drill holes in because it's just aluminum.

What was I thinking? You already have the holes to mount your risers! No drilling needed unless the new risers have larger stems.

figured id dig up this old thread :) so when the splined knobs are taken off and the 2 holes on each side are exposed, will just any riser bolt right into the holes that are already there, provided the bolts are the same diameter? or is the distance from bolt center to bolt center different on some risers? im about to order some superbike bars for my bike and i need to know what, if any, specific risers i need.

    as for seca risers,
not really bolt on, they will go through it then you put a nut under the top tree
no center to center there is only one stud
