Mine hit the gas tank, but I have a 550, you may want to put your bike in your profile, being the components very from bike to bike

it's a 1981 XJ 650 LH the bars are 28" wide with a 3.5" pull back. The master cylinder brake line hits the triple trees. Can you change the Risers??? or should i get a set of wider bars with a longer pull back.

Can't you crack the brake line loose at the M/C and rotate it a bit to work?

You can also get "add on" risers to lift the mounting points up a couple of inches.

I've never heard of add on risers. I've heard of replacing your risers. but these ones on my XJ650 LH are part of the top triple trees. where do you get them? oh and i forgot about the cable.I installed them so quick last night i forgot about the cable.

Here are a couple of different sources for add-on risers, they are actually rather commonly available.

    http://www.premiercycleaccessories.com/ ... /40004.htm

    http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productlist/218/

I just "Googled" '7/8" handlebar risers' and got a ton of results.

Cable? As in clutch? What I did was to figure out how much shorter a clutch cable I needed. Armed with that info as well as the "free length" (the inner cable that sticks out of the sheath, it differs from bike to bike) I worked with chacal to figure out what Yamaha cable would fit better.
