Damn Choke Linkage

    Does anyone have a detailed pic of how the choke linkage is hooked up at the carbs? I have the cable there and clamped and the cable is hooked to the actual linkage, but something isn't right. The linkage just spins on the long brass bar that controls the choke on each carb. When you mess with the choke lever on the handle bars it just moves the linkage but doesn't actually engage/disengage the choke. Help! I wanna get this beast running tonight!

    Probably missing the set screw that locks the linkage arm to the shaft...

    Oh, a 650H. Has the Hitachi carbs, unless I miss my guess. If you take a gander at THIS file, it should give you some idea how the rod and those little levers work.

    The rod has little divots in them where the set screws go -- did you tighten them down?

    Sorry its an 81 XJ650. And it's missing the set screw....wasn't there when I bought the bike. But I'm thinking I have bigger problems now. Thanks though guys.
