Smart car VS. Freightliner truck

we had some excitement at work this evening, hopefully co-worker steve has better pictures but this is to cool to not share.......

the truck pulled slightly left to turn right into our parking lot, the girl in the smart car went to pass on the right. this is how they came to rest. the car was so light that the truck just pushed it into our lot from the road (for those not familiar....the road can be seen to the right of the truck).

the smart car had a lot of cosmetic damage but the "cage" didnt crumple at all. it actually drove onto the tow truck. the lugnuts from the trucks front wheel did a lot of shallow shredding, the driver window was shattered. the rear left bumper half ripped off. the left rear rim was crushed. no airbag deploy, although i didnt look to see if it had side curtain bags or not. the truck suffered very minor scratching on the hood. the girl in the car was fine (and very pretty).

 

Smart cars are cool! and Just a tad safer than bikes! :lol:

 

and whats cool all she has to do is pop the old panels off and snap the new ones on

The moral of the story:
Don't pass trucks on the right. Especially when driving a golf cart. And only a man would notice what the woman looked like after being hit by a big truck. *rollseyes*

 

Take this from a guy who's driven a truck.

When a trucker turns on the right turn signal it doesn't mean he WANTS to turn right, it means he's GOING to turn right. Cars (or bikes) can sneak into his blind spot while he's checking his path.

This young lady was extremely fortunate there was no obstacle for her to get crushed against (it happens often).

Now for the real meat of this discussion, an effort should have been made to include pictures of the driver. Perhaps if your buddy had a better vantage point he got some you could send along. After all, we can't properly judge this incident without all the pertinent information.

 

Did you get any pics of the girl? No fair teasing about how pretty she was and not getting a good pic of her lol

 

From the looks of the accident I can see she's pretty, dumb.

 

smart car, dumb driver. steve let me down and only got pics of the car, none were much better than the one i posted. what a bum.

i think it will be totalled because the car only costs $12,000, and has a lot of metal shredding from the wheel studs. here in CT it doesnt take much to total a car.
