Easy way is to have custom tubes built to the length you want. Forking by Frank can hook you right up for under $300.

Just remember when you raise the forks in the triple tree you change the steering geometry, effectively making it "steeper" which will make it less stable.

winching straps, the same ones you tie the bike down with in the back of a truck. I have seen it done before and if you do it corrctly no one will ever notice it but you, I still find it pointless though, it is going to make you more likely to scrub the bottom of you bike and affect you hadling. If you do it you will be changing back to stock soon....

The first question asked should be why?

What is it exactly you are trying to achieve?

That won't help with getting fork material through the top clamp to attach clip ons to.

I'd just lower them by loosening the upper and lower clamps and slowly sliding them up. Remember to keep them even when you tighten everything back up. With a lower front end your steering geometry does change, as was mentioned, and you will notice the bike is more susceptible to turn-in and in low speed (think: parking lot) maneuvering your bike will want to fall in to the lock. A simple way to rectify the change in manners is to lower the rear end a little bit with the front end, it will get you a little closer to the way it used to be.

I saw a thread on here the other day about putting a rear wheel on the front. That would get you an 1.5" drop.

spiceymchagis, knew a fellow years ago that rode a rigid framed knucklehead. He was short enough that he had to take the seat off and rode with nothing between him and the frame but a folded up towel, OUCH...

1.5" drop in rim size, but you would be running a higher profile tyre on a 16" than the 19", so it would probably be about 1" drop overall.
