On my way back to work from lunch a large stake truck pulled right out from the opposite side of the road right in front of me. I had to lock up the brakes and take the shoulder to avoid hitting him. I pulled up along side of him, raised my hand as to say WTF and the dude flipped me off. He had a joint hanging from his mouth at the time.
Fortunately, Karma was with me and a cop saw the whole thing and pulled him over right then and there.
    Be the bunny indeed.....

I love it on the rare occasion a cop is actually where you want him to be!

Glad you kept yourself out of harms way and can tell us about it.

I swear sometimes they try to hit us!

The unfortunate thing is that room and meals cost us a crap-load of cash!

Sometimes I think we need a national "Pitcairn Island". Revoke their citizenship, drop the unrepentant/lifelong criminals and sociopaths there and let them live however they choose amongst themselves for the rest of their lives. Make it accessible only by air with a no tolerance/immediate use of force on any attempts to violate the airspace. Ooops, uhmmm, need to make this bike related ... uhhhhh, particularly for those who, in the course of some other felony (ie., DUI, DWI, etc.) kill a biker

indeed they did, No Escape was a good movie. there was another similar themed prison in a horrible movie with Van Damme and Dennis Rodman. I think they should do this in real life as well. i believe the idea itself stems from real life. nowadays its called Australia. no offense to the Aussies here.

For Australia, as I recall, it was used as a way to force colonization while at the same time getting rid of the dregs of society ... people with depraved indifference to the lives of others, in particular, motorcyclists, need to be removed from society. People who use their vehicles as weapons, like the truck driver in this case, need to be permanently barred from ever driving again.

I have had people pull in front of me like that, I installed a loud air horn on my bike, it gets me noticed in situations like that. It is a shame that most people don't even see you. Earilier this summer a lady on a cell phone was not paying attention and ran a stop sign, I saw her coming and laid on my horn. It scared her so much she dropped her phone. She did not even notice she ran the sign. Glad I was paying attention to what I was doing.

A couple of days ago I had a trucker pull out infront of me.. He was coming off of the interstate and just pulled right out. I laid on my lil ole horn but doubt he heard me but I know he seen me when I went by him and gave him a 1 finger'd salute.

Not to hijack a thread but I know someone who was a prison guard. They had strict rules as to what you could and could not bring for you own lunch. The type of food and even the way it was wrapped! They said it was easier to eat what the prisoners got and pay 25 cents for the meal! I figured it out that for what they say it costs to house a prison inmate for a year was the same it cost to feed the all the inmates 3 times a day for a year at the place this dude worked at.
