neutral

I was recently in a crash, bike suffered a little cosmetic damage, bent crash bar, bent handle bars and lost rt. turn signal, however since the crash I have not been able to put the bike in neutral unless I fight with it for a while.
I gave the bike a good going over, checked rear axle, frame, swing arm, and drive, I was hit in the saddle bags so they took most of the damage.
Why won't it go into neutral now?
Could the bent handle bars have something to do with the clutch cable tension? How do I adjust it?
