you may be able to get away with useing a fuel tank with a 5 psi fuel pump

You can use any low pressure fuel pump on the carbs - as long as it pumps below 5PSI you're set. There are car ones on ebay for under $30.

Something tells me that the first left turn that kart makes will include a roll over. The engine sitting that far from center and the way the engine is mounted just makes me weary...very weary.

not only rollover but with a fuel pump connected u will need an oil pressure switch cut-off for just THAT reason.

When you start the bike, the bike creates a vacum which pulls the gas thru the petcock. it is not gravity fed. The only time gravity works with that pet cock is when you set it on prime (I'm talking stock conditions here) That being said, you shouldn't need a fuel pump. But since you are planning on locating the tank other than above the motor, then you will have to get a pump because I doubt the engine will create a strong enough vacum to draw the fuel to the carbs if the tank sat lower than the engine and or to far from it. I honestly think that anything over 3psi will be too much for that engine. Those carbs are not designed to receive pressure, but volume, created by the engine's vacum.

Is the seca engine able? YES, is your GOCART able, would be the proper question. I think it's overkill to install that engine on a gocart. At least widen the axels and re structure the engine mounts and try to lower the engine some more and center it better. there is a Formula class that races with these engines. Formula 4 but these where bigger than a go cart.

I would do a search on those vehices to give you better ideas on how they mount their engines and how the supply fuel to the engines as well.

Actually - the vacuum petcock is gravity fed. The vacuum from the engine pulls on a diaphragm that allows fuel to flow downward (hence gravity). If your tank is lower than the carbs - the vacuum will still open the valve in the petcock - but fuel will still go DOWN. Here's a good description I found on a Virago page of petcock operation.

If you're planning on locating the fuel tank lower than the carbs, I would suggest a vacuum fuel pump like those used on jetskis - similar to the one in the link below.

Another way- - you could pump gas up to a pint container that would overflow excess gas back down to the main tank. That way you have gravity feed and keep the big tank low.

Use a mercury trunk light switch for safety. American cars.
(And your gearing will feel "tall")

Well I guess you learn something new everyday. In this case me :) I new it was activated by vacum, but I did not know it was only the petcock which was vacum operated therefore allowing the fuel to flow. Pretty neat.

    I stand corrected.
