My wifes cousin and her boyfriend were both killed in a SmartCar/Motorcycle/Jeep crash....Colleen died at the scene and Brad passed Monday. Be careful out there and keep you eye on the OTHER guy because you never know what they are going to do!!

    -------------------------

A motorcyclist run over after a motorcycle crash has died from his injuries.

Bradley Sheridan was taken to UT Medical Center in critical condition.

He and his passenger, Colleen Freeman of Rutledge, were thrown from his motorcycle when another car turned into his lane of traffic. The driver of a Jeep was then unable to stop in time and ran them over.

Freeman was pronounced dead that day. Sheridan lingered in critical condition until Monday, when he died.

    Colleen Freeman of Rutledge killed

According to Knoxville Police Department Spokesperson Darrell DeBusk, 44-year-old Colleen Freeman of Rutledge was killed in a wreck involving a motorcycle a Smart Car and an SUV.

It happened around 6:15 Thursday night at Central Avenue Pike and Merchants Road.

Investigators say Larry Keith, 49 and of Maryville, was driving a Smart Car and turned in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle ran into the small car.

Both Bradley Sheridan and Colleen Freeman were thrown from the motorcycle onto the road. They were then run over by a Jeep Cherokee, driven by a woman from Knoxville.

Both Sheridan and Freeman sustained life-threatening injuries. Sheridan, Freeman, and the Smartcar passenger, Diane Keith, were taken to UT Medical Center.

Freeman was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Sheridan was in critical condition. Keith has been released from the hospital.

Charges could be filed, as the investigation continues.

my condolences for your loss and i can sense the indignation in your message. hopefully we riders will keep in mind that we are OFTEN unseen and 2 wheels always loses to 4 wheels. Caution dictates we ride EXPECTING to be invisible. again am sorry for your loss!

Very sorry for your's and your family's loss. My sincerest condolences. It only re-emphasizes the point that we as riders need to remain vigilant and aware of our surroundings at all times, but at the same time understanding that we cannot always predict other people's actions. I agree with Joshua and have said this before as well, we need to act as if we are invisible, and everything out there is trying to kill us. It's very sad, and even more sad to think about, but that is the reality. Again, a very sobering reminder. Sorry once more for your loss.

My most sincere condolences. Just because the car says "smart" doesn't infer anything towards the driver. I'm getting really disgusted this year; too many good people getting hurt by stupid/inattentive people. Ride safe, folks.
