I have already posted a couple of questions on this XJ650 I just got. I am a mechanic by trade so I know my way around wrenches. But I am not familiar with the XJ650. I bought this bike for my wife, she has just gotten her learners permit and this is her first bike, so I want to make sure its right. I have a used TCI unit coming in the mail, hopefully this week. I need to double check the wiring harness to make sure its the correct one since it was changed. Its kinda hard for me to get down on the floor and really check this thing out because I had back surgery a month ago and am still recovering. I want to get this thing going soon though. Is there any of you XJ650 guru's in the northern virginia area that could come by my garage and make sure I am on the right track? Also just to check over everything and make sure this bike is going to be okay for the wife? Its imperative that this thing is in proper working order since it will be carrying valuable cargo!!! At least if I can get it checked out and running, then when my back is healed up good, I can take it out to a parking lot so she can get some hands on experience.

    Thanks in advance.

Wont call myself a guru, especially with electrical work, but I'm just over the mountain in Leesburg. I've had good luck with the guys at Valley Cycle over on 50, just east of Winchester. They've done all of the shop work on my XJ. It takes them a little while, depends on how busy they are, but at least one of their mechanics likes working on the older bikes.

I've been dealing with issues with my bike for years, shoot me a PM with your numbers and I'll see what I can do to assist.

I'll vouch for Valley Cycle too. Very good service and nice people to boot. They've always had in stock anything that I needed.
