Hello all. I just purchased a 1981 750 Seca with less than 15,000 original miles. It's in the shop right now. Bought it for $700. It is belching up oil/gas mixture out of air box. Looks like oil was overfilled, and carb float(s) stuck. Excellent mechanic working on it as of today. Can't wait!

Other than a leaky petcock, the glass from the fairing is gone. Seller set it down real slowly while just standing there, and couldn't hold it up, glass pushed against foot peg of his buddy's bike and just snapped off.

Any sellers or advice? Anyone want the fairing and saddlebags and box on back? I got the keys and they are all in excellent condition. Then I would need a grab bar for back of seat and headlight/fog lamp assembly. But would maybe do it. Also seat has a small crack, so I would love a nice seat.

While I'm here, please advise about cylinder compression. They tested 120, 120, 115, 120. Is that within tolerance? I thought it was okay...

Looking forward to learning from you all and sharing this forum!

Not sure what fairing you have. On mine it goes around the headlight only, kind of a small sport fairing. Still looking for one and most likely will make one.

Here's a pic of the bike from the Craigslist ad I bought it from. Unfortunately it's in the shop so I can't send detail pics. Fuel in the crankcase, requires full carb rebuild. So I spend $700 on a great shape bike, and will spend $600+ on the carb repairs/oil change (that it just had be prior owner). How do I feel? Great. In a week I will have a great condition bike now with perfect carbs for what? $1,300? Not bad. I like the bike, it's in great shape, but sat for a long time with fuel in it. Not sorry, got it right, I think.

BTW, fairing has its own lights in it.

    Thanks!
