Stolen 83 XJ900

Well a bit of bad luck has hit me. My beloved '83 black XJ900 has been stolen. If anyone hears of or sees one that is riding about or being parted out please contact me. It went missing from Port Coquitlam.
plate # is L84932
If you see or hear anything contact Coquitlam RCMP please. I saved hard for this , sacrificed many items for sale to buy it and I fear my summer has just ended.
I feel like my heart was just ripped out.

Bill is correct, it would help. The "RCMP" is a clue, we know you're in Canada.

Looks like just east of Vancouver, BC?

This kind of thing happens to motorcylces more than it should. Its too easy to pop the ignition switch and take them. Hope you get it back in one peice.

That is horrible, sorry to hear. Keep an eye out on Ebay and Craigslist as well for someone just parting out an XJ900 in your area. . . . That is such a shame, and XJ900's are so rare as it is! I've actually never seen one in person! Best of luck on her safe return.

 

Yeah rare it is, I live in Port Coquitlam B.C. , Canada and it was taken from here. the VIN is 31E000459

 

Hopefully it will just be abandoned soon, when they find out they can't sell any parts. That is (should be) one advantage for having 25 + year old bikes- - no market for thieves.

 

I wonder if the bike was targeted? Who steals a 26 year old bike? Damn that sucks!

 

There have been a few fairly new sportbikes stolen at gunpoint here in Wichita, Ks. I know of at least five different people who have had their bikes stolen in the last two months. I don't think they have recovered any of them. I hope yours turns up soon and in one piece.

Let's all cross our fingers and hope this low-life gets pulled-over by a real tough Lawman.
The kind of Cop who can smell this kind of rat a mile away.
I hope the bastard is wanted for a Felony and him stealing your Bike was the biggest mistake of his miserable, misguided existence.

I share the grief and concern for a stolen XJ900. Mine was stolen from the front of my house earlier this year. Spent 24 hours (a good proportion of which was filling out forms for the police and insurance!!) being despondent mainly at all the hours spent fixing her up mechanically.

Then, walking home from work the next day...my mobile rings and it's the PO-LEECE...they found the bike, on its sidestand about 45 minutes drive from my place. Got there after dark that evening and she was still in one piece...apart from the rear tyre (it was ready to be replaced anyway) that was...SHREDDED. Burnouts on bitumen no doubt. Was worried the engine might have suffered but no...all still seems well.

Joy riders! If it was a new Ducati or similar I doubt I would ever have seen it again...

Some stories have a happy ending and this is a rare one in the stolen bike world.

 

here in KC, there was a bunch of guys that stole all the 250 Rebels from the Rider's Course building. the cops just sat and waited on the main drag of the Blue Springs and looked for anyone riding those bikes. they caught everyone (6) in 4 days. they saw big bikers on these little bikes and knew something was very very wrong.

I am very fortunate that the area in which I live is crime free. however, I still put it in the garage

I just had an idea. Check with the impound lot where the cars and motorcycles get towed to. Maybe the theif took off the licence plate when he dumped the bike. That happens here from time to time and the cops have a harder time looking up vin numbers and matching to regristrations. Its worth a shot anyway. Let the guy know whos there to call you if he sees anything .

I am so sorry that some d*ckless POS stole your bike and I so hope you get her back safe and sound.

The above referenced post is hilarious! In the midst of my rage at the stolen bike I see in my minds eye a group of poor mis-guided "brothers" in colors riding 250 Rebels!

Now that is some funny stuff!

BTW- crime free? Nobody ever drops a candy bar wrapper, or J-walks, or spits on the sidewalk, or an under age person sips a cold beer?

I think I'd like to live there!

/ain, I wish you the best in getting your bike back. I had my passenger windoew on my pickup smashed and my laptop stolen once and it is a terrible feeling. But steal my bike?

No luck as of yet, I have my appointment with the insurance company this afternoon to get all the details ironed out.
I do hope they find her in one piece as I miss riding bad.

 

Sorry about your luck, I'll keep my eye on 900 parts in Calgary for you I haven't seen one here yet some if it shows up it's stand out like a sore thumb!!
