Re: maxim 700cc 1983 needs left side panal, and exhaust

ok it has to be a 1982 xj750 maxim just like this one

    http://provo.craigslist.org/mcy/1316254679.html

its the only one I found with the plate on the grab bar.

    the 700cc maxin was only made 1985- 91986 and 1999 - 2000

It's a 1983 (or perhaps 1984, Canadian-only model) XJ750 Maxim as evidenced by the round analog gauges.

The VIN off the paper tag on the steering neck or the punched VIN on the steering neck will tell the real story.

Additionally, the "shorty" VIN on the engine case (right side of the engine, behind the clutch case cover, ont he flat "ribbed" pad) will positively identify the engine, and whether the engine is original to that bike.

And no, minus a few nuts and bolts etc., most XJ700 parts or XJ750-X or XJ750 Seca parts will NOT interchange with it!

TA MATE,THE HEAD STOCKS BEEN WELL PAINTED SO CANT SEE IT CLEARLLY,, SO TRY AND FIND AN EXHAUST FOR IT WILL BE VERY HARD THEN? EVEN IF I ONLY COULD GET HOLD OF THE CENTRE BOX,I CAN MAKE THE REST TO FIT?
