    Hello Folks,

    So I installed a MAC 4 into 2 megaphone exhaust on SWMBO's XJ650.

It looks great, but, the megaphones are gonna rub the axle bolt head on the right, and the axle nut on the left when I let it off it's center stand.

Has anyone installed this system successfully so that it does not rub the axle?

    Pics?

    Thanks,

    greg

greg, i fitted a mac 4 into 2 exhaust to my 750 and had a similar problem, the way i got around it was to lossen the megaphones at the mounts and the inlets and roll them from underneath outwards to allow the clearances required. once this is done have a friend on standby to tighten the inlet pipes as you hold them out and then do the mounts up. this should give you the reqired clearance. picks of my ride are in here somewhere. cheers from another greg

    Thanks Trucker!

I just got off the phone with MAC Performance systems, tech support.

The tech suggested that I slightly bend the tab, that is welded to the megaphone, on a vise, so that the megaphone will kick out away from the axle. He says an 1/8" bend, won't break the weld, or crack the chrome, but it will move the end of the megaphone out about a 1/2".

I will try it this evening, taking pics, of course, and eventually posting them.

    Stay tuned...
