Oil light flickers or stays on dim

    made a newbee mistake and put to much oil in during a oil change the first time. Needless to say oil flowed out of her onto the ground from the airbox. Since then I drained what was there and added the correct amount of oil. Only problem is now the oil light keeps coming on dimly and flickers bright from time to time??? Did I just totally screw up the seals/oil pump? suggestions? :?:

    by the way this is a xj600s. Don't know if that helps or not.
