Hi all. I wanted to introduce myself and say how happy I am to find this forum. I'm a major lurker usually, but I may not be so quiet on here. Way to many folks to pick brains from. And picking brains can be much fun 8O

Just this summer I learned to ride thru a safety class after riding on the back of the DH's Concours. When searching for a bike, it was mainly $$ driven. Didn't want to spend a bunch just to decide it wasn't my thing. Found my 650 for $1200, looked pretty good for an old gal. We drove it home (about 1.5 hr drive) and rode around town for a couple weeks. Thats when it started getting real fun!! It stranded me, (luckily in town) and for the next couple weeks, my DH & I spent many quality hours together cleaning the carbs twice, and just giving it a much needed tune up. The Haynes manual is a great investment. Even with neither of us having MC mechanican experience, with our heads together, we have her running better than she's probably ran in years.

It's nice to get on here and read about the same issues that I've had in getting mine going. And I'm looking forward to reading alot more.

BTW, I'm thinking that this is my thing!!

Lisa, watch out for helmet... he's got more than a screw loose. I think there could be some internal top end damage going on . LOL Just kidding... I would love to ride with any of these folks.

The fact that helmet is in Kansas tells me that he can't be all that bad. Oh wait, are you on the KS side or MO? Guess I'll reserve judgement till I find out for sure! JK of course

I used to live in Riley. Does that help? Oh, and I lived in Dodge City for a while too.

Welcome to the forum, Lisa. :D

Dodge? wow, I am so sorry. I would visit my wife there when she was in school at DCCC. as I got closer to the place I would have to actually force myself to go into town and then cheer when I left to come back to KC.
