    probably not a good idea.
getting pulled over unregistered is one thing, but a wreck while uninsured would lead to many a financial nightmares for you.

Get your title in order and licence plate. Thats one way to insure the bike doesn't got to the impound lot. Insurance is a seperate issue. You can get cheap insurance with out medical for 150.00 a year. Add medical and you can easy double that with no problem.

Personally I would not risk the things you'll be faced with if it all goes bad on you.

If the Michigan State Police pull you over they'll impound the bike.

when I got my bike, I worked on it to get it running and would take around the block to test little changes I was making to it. I refused to go on long rides w/out my reg and ins.

the best i can find is about $200 but its STILL cheaper than an uninsured motorist ticket. that would be right around a grand. plus like BigFitz said, MSP will impound the bike...

tags will probably be about $30 if i recall from june...

so as everyone has said, GET THE PAPERS...

    for me
    registration $20
    insurance $75

$95 just doesn't seem like that big a deal for a year of riding :)

Boasting about riding without Tags and Insurance in a Public Forum isn't too smart.
Riding the Bike without Tags and Insurance is being a outlaw.

In most States you'll be carted-off to Jail for having an Unregistered and Uninsured vehicle on-the-road.

It is because of characters like you that Insurance Rates for responsible Bike Owners are so high.
Please get some Tags and Insurance.
Until you do ... please don't brag about it in here.

They realy screw us on bikes here. cars are cheap and its realy not any hassel if you get into a accenident. no fault insurance. we have government paid health care, but for some reasone if you are in auto accident the heath care bills the at arms lenght government insurance which then passes this down to the buyers. since bike accidents usally involve destroyed bikes and more medical expense they unfaily hit bike owners harder. realy as sore point in this province. the riding year is caluculated from may to september so if you make payments its lump sum is over those months. your bike is insuried for the whole year thought.

holy crap, i realize the consequences. i guess i should've clarifed. i'm not riding on the road, i'm riding in the parking lot across the street from me to get the feel of the bike. i'm excited i finally got it running and any free time i get i bring it over and ride around a bit. i wouldn't take it on the road now anyway. it still needs a little work. i guess i should've explained.

parking lots that are empty to me arent a big deal. the only hurt you create if you wreck is you and your bike

Seriously, I pay about $10 a year each for my XJ and my Shadow, $6/year each for NYS inspection, and $96/year to insure both bikes.
