New Military Assignment Location

Yes, the humidity will probably be the biggest shocker, but the good side, is you'll be able to ride all year around!! Welcome to the south!!!

 

Hey it's a n ice post I was stationed there from 96 to 99. I was 2-7 INfantry Mech. It was a good post, but alot of field time so hope you don't mind deployments and field exercises. Take care and best of luck on your PCS.

 

Good lord...I grew up down there. Ludowici to be exact. (Not a high spot on the visiting plan, as I'm sure kbarmansr can tell you!)

And so it shall be, on those, what the local populace generally refers to as a "Most pleasant Summer afternoon", that you will be astride your uniquely Asian Yamaha, amid the multitude of rumbling and thunderously ear-splitting exhausts, proclaiming their patriotism, having been hand-made by the toil and trouble, of good, God-fearing, loyal American laborers, who take pride in the fruits of their labor, and are especially gratified, hearing their finished product called swine, or some other such reference to a barn yards most slovenly life form; that you will be sometimes in the shadows of the low-hanging Wisteria, impatiently waiting for the multi-colored, traffic controlling devise, suspended above the centers of the streets and boulevards, to display its permissive signal, allowing you to proceed; that you shall be nearly saturated in your own perspiration and silently wishing the interior of your safety helmet was air conditioned!

 

Actually, we usually just said "it's f*c*i*g hot"...., but it paints a pretty picture!
