don't hate me, but i picked up another bike. the stress of my only bike needing constant attention was killing me. being that i live on a dirt road, and am surrounded by logging roads, i'd had my eye on a KLR650 for quite awhile.

when i killed my battery cruising with the seca at too low of RPMs and pushed it to a bike shop, there was an '07 in the lot for sale. i took it to be a sign.

so far i'm very happy with it - it's definitely a different beast. 1 cylinder engine really thumps. it's very tall - i'm considering lowering it as i can just barely back it up.

i still love the seca - it's more fun on the pavement. but now i have something to go play with in the woods, too.

i kind of think of it as the seca is my fixer-upper sports car, and the KLR is my truck. i can't stress how different it is being up that high. eye to eye with people driving pick up trucks.

here's a write up i posted on a KLR650 forum of a camping trip i took last week if anyone's interested.

Hey, good buy! KLR's are a lot of fun. You should check out ADVRider.com if you're interested in the adventure riding stuff at all. I ride a V-Strom 1000 and couldn't be happier or have more fun on a bike.
