left or right carb

    When they say left carb in the manual is it the left side if your sitting on the bike?

    My carbs on the xs400 take a 127 main on the left carb and a 120 on the right side but I found them in the wrong sides on mine. Might explain why the left side is lean on the upper throttle.

    Yes, left and right are always from the perspective of someone sitting on the bike. So the left carb goes with the #1 cylinder.

    the stock bike came with a 115 and a 120 in the US...may want to do more research. I run 125 mains in both carbs with pods and straight pipes with Harley mufflers on them...very nice
